Does this locomotive can run on transformer

Do you have any info on the Leica DBP Nr.814 156 Just bought one
I recently came into a IIIc, with a 5cm lens. Both are in need of cleaning and repair. Can you recommend anyone that’s good with these older Leica’s ?
Try Youxin Ye, of Yye Camera. He’s reasonable and knows these old cameras well. Good luck!
@@Antwort2und40 thanks, he did my M6. I wasn’t sure if he did the older ones.
I have one and they are a delight.
that looks like a IIIC edit: uggh just noticed your description lol!
No worries. Yes, it was a nice IIIc. I'm happy people are still finding value in this video that I filmed off the cuff many, many years ago! Enjoy your Leica(s) :)
@@Antwort2und40 I'm completely new to Leicas. Just bought a IIIf. Can't afford a Leica lens so having to slum it with alternatives (Canon f1.8 LTM).
Nice layout and locomotive. I just wish we could get a better look at it from the sides!
The Climax is another beautiful steam locomotive design.
That’s awesome! Is that on 036?
Yep! I still have this train, although it hasn’t been run since 2014. Wonderful engine. I also have the matching logging cars, which are really cool!
My leika3c NO380322!
Very cool! Great cameras, and I miss mine. I sold this camera years ago, so I no longer own it.
Oh and this is where and how you load the film....
These cams are so so cool ; )
Wonderful tutorial :)
Hi from Mexico! Thank you for that!! You've explained very well how to operate an old Leica! I might actually buy one soon!
Lol... is this for shooting people who move in slow motion?
How mach this leica???
What price does these usually go for?

I took mine out of the box brand new for the first time 2 weeks ago - I purchased it new 20 years ago and had it in the closet since.; I used an un-restored as is Lionel ZW transformer> I had no idea there was a battery in the engine that of course was stone cold dead. The engine ran for 5 minutes and the board blew. Stone cold dead engine not even a light. I called MTH and they now have it - they are installing a new updated board that is gonna cost me around $275. As cute as this is $275 for a board that isn't worth $5 is Another reason to treasure my pre and post war Lionel!
i got this one for free :)
2 questions 1. Does it run on lionel fastrack? 2. Can it pull lionel rolling stocks?
Yes, and yes :)
I suffered watching this video how many scratches you made to the camera in that table omg
hi cool video, can you only set the shutter speed AFTER advancing the film? thanks. i find it confusing as to which one indicates the speed, before advancing or after
Thanks, this has been so useful!
An old post I know but did you know this IIIC s what sometimes gets referred to as a 'stepper'? The little lever that releases the wind mechanism for rewinding is mounted on a step, on the postwar IIIC the step was omitted and the top plate was flat. I assume this is a 40s build.
Nice video, use all that wall space..lol does the engine have a smoke unit. I know some do for the electric generators. Thanks
Thank you! I miss that train room :) No smoke unit. Great sound, though!
Tengo una camara como esa, solo le falta el lente, mas Info + 52 5577110084
Great video! Hope you enjoy watching our model running around our track while providing an overview of features and a bit of a history lesson: ruclips.net/video/WkgSXr5tcW0/видео.html
You don’t have to set your shutter speed after every frame, do you?
frank sieckmann You only need to set the shutter speed if you want the exposure to change. Otherwise, you can leave it as set.
What ASA film is used does anyone know?
Graham Weinroth you may use any ASA you wish... you set the exposure, after all :)
bayonet is M mount not screw mount
Right. This is not a bayonet mount camera ;)
Put something under the camera, they didn’t have RUclipsrs back then.
Hey Nate, Thanks for doing this video. I just picked up one of these radios at an estate sale. After lots of cleaning later, I checked the tubes (6F5 was "replace") and cautiously brought it up on my variac. Started to work! I know it needs a full recap, but I'm pleased to know it basically works. This one came with a 5U4G rectifier instead of a 5Z4, which is an OK substitute, I guess. Is that what you'd recommend? Thanks, Tom
Thanks for review. I bought the same camera just right now from ebay.
see the muk camera services video showing another way to do this. The Japanese girl sounds cute.
That's a lovely tank, good job!. What kind of crypt is that?
fbexi1981 thank you! To be honest, it's been so long, I no longer recall. This was a fun tank (I no longer own it)
Hi Nate. I use 24 exposure film. How many shots spare do I have before I have a usable exposure? 2 shots? Thank you
From a time when men were men and cameras were cameras, and the women walked bow legged.
Actually that is a wartime IIIc, note the stepped rewind switch.
Adam Lang yup, '41/'42 according to the serial number
Can you tell me what is Jake's Veggie Sticks?
Is it possible to damage the mechanism by turning the knobs on one of these cameras? Mine won't wind properly and I'm wondering if I caused the issue.
HelloWorld check the simple stuff before you assume the worst. Is the shutter cocked? Release it. Do you have film in the camera? Make sure it's not off track or jammed. These are very old cameras, anything is possible with regard to their condition; but start simple first.
Well I can't get the shutter to fire. That's the problem. There is no film in the camera. The rewind knob is fully depressed, the rewind lever set to A, the knob on the front set to 30, and the shutter speed dial set to whatever. The winding knob just keeps going around and around, seemingly half-catching time and time again. But occasionally, after winding or after setting shutter speed, the dial will "catch on" and turn the shutter speed in unison with its own turning. In this case, the shutter button, when depressed, will sometimes click or half click (feels like something is stuck), and the shutter speed dial will move just a little, but not as much as it seems like it should according to videos online.
Your camera needs a service. I've had very good results at a fair price from Youxin Ye. Good luck!
Nate Jedinak Is it possible that I could I have caused damage to the camera, or is this a normal thing for an old camera? Is it even possible to cause damage to the camera, perhaps by turning the shutter speed knob before winding and without lifting up on it first?
This isn't a normal thing for a Leica--get it serviced if you want to use it.
Looking at the camera serial number, this is a World War II-era Leica IIIb. (The D.R.P. designation nails it; postwar, it's "D.B.P.") That 50mm Summar has been extended and collapsed quite a number of times over the years.
Thanks for this--the old manuals I found all were extensive about loading the film but not much on actually using the camera! This was incredibly helpful :-)
This was extremely useful. Thank you!
Glad I could help, enjoy your Leica!!
hey there awesome pair, just wondering where did u get the shells from?
I got the shells of Amazon; the particular variety is no longer available, but I see some alternatives listed. Just look for Escargot shells. Hope that helps! (As a side note, this colony is in another tank now, but still going strong!)
I came across a Leica III for $140, is that a good price to pay for this camera, I do not really know a lot about these cameras but, it has the leather cover and appears to be in good shape. what bad things should I look for in this camera before buying???? Any help would be grateful.
It really depends upon how functional the camera is; you could check the shutter speeds (by ear or by recording), and check the shutter itself to make sure it doesn't have holes in it. Most of these camera will need a good CLA from a Leica mech; it's not a lot of money as long as you don't have any shutter problems. Good luck!
Excellent video!
I can't picture Cartier-Bresson doing it this way :) Good presentation though.
This was simply awesome for me....`a new to screw-mount Leica`s person`.....I picked one of the 111a cameras up on e.bay ...tbh I thought it was too cheap to offer reliability... (after all it dates from 1936, but still secretly I had faith in German engineering of that period ) ...I loaded film ....everything went wrong....was about to archive this as a pre-war artefact....turns out I loaded the film WRONG !.....I saw this vid. & quickly realised that my incorrect film loading resulted in a `kinking` of the LOWER perforated edge.....this results in an incorrect shutter operation ....jams it up ....now I have a beautifully operating classic camera thank you. .
Fantastic, happy I could help! Enjoy it. They are fabulous cameras. I still love how you can slide one in your pocket with a collapsible 50... So handy, and capable of fantastic results.
